Ultimate Blog Hop!

Hello one and all! If this is your first time visiting the ole' Jonesie then please let me explain a little. I write on a variety of topics. (basically whatever may pop into my head or even whatever rant I have for the day.) Some things are a little out there, I admit. But honestly, I have spent so much of my life worrying about what others think that when I finally released myself from the "rules and roles of society" I really began to find myself. So, my request is that you read more than just one post before you decide. I promise somewhere along the way I am sure you will say what so many others have said at one time or another: Jonesie, you simply say what others only think in their heads!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads on earth, to the dads in heaven, granddads,step-dads, foster dads or a special father figure who has helped along the way.

For the first time in almost 30 years I have not purchased a Father’s Day card. While this makes me a little sad I have chosen to take the more positive route. Instead of sitting here crying and becoming overwhelmingly depressed I choose instead to remember the good times. Those I have plenty.

Today is in honor of the following people:
·       My Great Granddad: John Robertson Hood
For all the times we sat on the front porch shelling pecans, stringing beans or drinking a glass of tea. I love you Granddaddy!
·       My PeePaw: Otis Eugene Smith
For all the times we sat laughing at a TV show that wasn’t really as funny as we thought it was due to nature’s herbs, and the times you saved me from a ticket by “getting” me an inspection sticker for my rickety old car.
·       My Uncle B: Bill Sellers
The man who was more of a father than anyone ever was for me. For all the times we stayed up late talking and you helped me discover the answer to my problems which were really there all along. For all the encouragement, love and support you always gave me even in the times that I screwed up the most.

For all of you, I know you are in Heaven above looking down today. I honor each of you with all my heart, love and admiration. I am the woman, mother, and wife I am today because of each of you. I love you yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever.
